Tara Park competed on the 2012-2013 GST team before graduating from Amador Valley High School in 2013 and continuing on to the University of Nevada, Reno. She threw for Nevada the next five years, serving as a team captain for three and competing on the travel team for four. During those years she ranked fifth on Nevada-All-Time discus list. Tara also was the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President, the Nevada co-representative for the Mountain West SAAC, and the Mountain West co-representative at a National All-Division NCAA Leadership Forum. She earned a Journalism B.A. in 2017 and is projected to complete a Philosophy M.A. in May 2019. Tara completed her throwing career at the 2018 British Team Trials competing in the Women's Discus. Despite no longer throwing, Tara continues to use the knowledge she gained as an athlete in her academic work. She specializes in Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Sport, constantly evaluating athletes' mental states both in practice and competition.
